Northern Ireland Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has spoken about the value of business innovation in supporting economic recovery. Speaking at a National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) event. The event was held as NESTA has just released a report entitled ‘Attacking the Recession: How Innovation can beat the Downturn’ The NESTA website has a great set of other resources and two groupings of Blogs, Making Innovation Flourish and NESTA Connect.
Minister Foster commented:
“We need a combination of resilience, enterprise and innovation to provide a platform for future growth here. Such reports as those by NESTA and MATRIX, help to create a blueprint for business, government and academia to work together towards generating economic growth through the exploitation of innovative science and technology.”
Good in so far as it goes and Invest NI does great work in promoting innovation and R&D. Ministers South of the Border have been saying much the same things recently. Would it be too much to ask for some joint work on Innovation Ireland.
Matrix is the Northern Ireland Science Industry Panel and has some interesting reports and publications on Life and Health sciences, ICT, Agri-food and other engineering disciplines.
Welcome Back. Don't forget to leave a comment. Thanks.
